Sandvik 14C28N steel with a hammered finish. Stainless, holds an edge and is easy to resharpen.
Hardness
59±2 HRC — the balance between an edge that lasts and a blade that doesn't turn brittle.
Handle
Maple wood with an ox horn ferrule, in Japanese wa style.

The hammer marks stay visible and reduce food sticking to the blade.
