At DACOBI we believe in knives built to last a lifetime. That is why we offer a 10-year commercial guarantee on every knife we sell, on top of the legal guarantee of conformity you are entitled to by law. Here is how it works, in plain terms.

The DACOBI commercial guarantee - 10 years

Every DACOBI knife comes with a commercial guarantee of 10 years. This guarantee is given voluntarily by DACOBI, in addition to your statutory rights, and it covers defects that appear under normal use and care.

The guarantee starts on the date you receive the product.

What the guarantee covers

For 10 years, against:

manufacturing defects;
material defects;
workmanship defects.

What it does not cover

Damage that is not caused by a defect in the product:

normal wear and the edge dulling with use;
misuse or abuse (for example cutting on hard surfaces such as glass, stone or frozen bone);
rust caused by lack of care or by storage in damp conditions;
washing in the dishwasher;
knocks, falls, bending or chipping of the blade;
incorrect sharpening, or sharpening with unsuitable tools;
damage to the handle caused by moisture or by prolonged exposure to water.

How to keep your commercial guarantee valid

For the commercial guarantee to stay valid, the knives must be cared for according to the instructions included in the box. You will find all our advice in our guide to knife care and storage.

In short: wash by hand and dry straight away, store somewhere dry, sharpen regularly and keep the knives out of the dishwasher.

How to make a guarantee claim

If you run into a problem covered by the guarantee, follow these steps:

Contact us by e-mail or through our contact page and describe the problem (ideally with photos).
Send us proof of purchase (your order number or invoice).
Our team reviews the case and lets you know the outcome.
Depending on the case, we will repair / replace / refund it.

We cover the cost of return shipping on guarantee claims.
